To fellow sportsmen and women,
Welcome to the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation’s (CSF) new and improved website and Resource Center. While the goal of our website is to provide timely updates to the most important policies affecting the sportsmen’s community, the Resource Center will provide a unique space where our staff and partners can share editorials and stories related to sportsmen’s issues, photos and videos of our hunting and fishing adventures, and graphics showing the conservation efforts and economic impact of sportsmen and women.
CSF was established in 1989, shortly after the formation of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus (CSC), with the purpose of communicating the interests of the sportsmen’s community to Members of Congress who support our hunting and fishing heritage. Since then, both the CSC and CSF have grown and successfully passed a number of bills that enhance access and opportunities for hunters and anglers as well as fund conservation projects for fish and wildlife. After 15 successful years working with Congress in Washington, CSF expanded its efforts to states across the country, working with state legislatures to establish the 48 state legislative sportsmen’s caucuses united under the umbrella of the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses. In 2009, CSF introduced the Governors Sportsmen’s Caucus which today includes 34 bipartisan governors.
Today, CSF comprises 22 full-time staff including the CSF States Program Team, a group whose mission is to ensure the voice of sportsmen and women is heard across the country at the local, state, and regional level.
When CSF’s staff is not working with leaders of legislative sportsmen’s caucuses or fish and wildlife agency representatives on behalf of sportsmen and women across the country, they are practicing what they preach. On any weekend morning, you can find a CSF hat being worn afield or on the water. Protecting and advancing our hunting, angling, recreational shooting, and trapping traditions is not only our mission during the work week, but a lifelong passion.
In order to enhance the voice for sportsmen/women by sportsmen/women, we hope CSF’s Resource Center will provide a forum to tell the stories behind the policies.
Thank you for your support,
